QPR to target City ace in January
QPR are weighing up a loan move for Manchester City fringe striker John Guidetti in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.
The Loftus Road club are facing being without summer signing Andy Johnson for the remainder of the season after the experience forward suffered a long-term injury, and Mark Hughes is said to be eager to bolster his attacking options once the window reopens.
Guidetti is behind Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko in the Premier League champions’ attack, and is likely to play most of the current campaign in the Etihad Stadium club’s reserves.
The Swedish forward spent last season on loan at Eredivisie side Feyenoord, and helped the team to a second-place finish with 20 goals in 23 games.
This impressive goal tally included three hat-tricks in four games and the Scandinavian youngster is on the radar of a number of European sides.
With Guidetti unlikely to feature for City, Roberto Mancini may well consider loaning out the prospect to QPR for the second half of the campaign.
